which aptly displays the complexity of influences towards the end of the seventeenth
century. Nicola Matteis and Matthew Locke have always been a particular speciality
of the Palladian Ensemble.
An Excess of Pleasure (Gramophone Critics' Choice in 1993) was released
to unanimous praise and featured in the UK classical charts throughout 1993
This is sparkling playing with the sense of uninhibited joy which only
technical mastery and unrestrained joy can generate.
